Authorizations for Online Master’s in Professional Studies Program

CIA’s accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and approval to operate in New York State include the online MPS program. Accreditation means CIA meets national standards of excellence in higher education. CIA is authorized to offer its online MPS program through the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) to students outside of its home state of New York located in the following: all 48 other states excluding California; Puerto Rico; the U.S. Virgin Islands; and the District of Columbia. This means that if an MPS student lives in one of these states/territories or the District of Columbia, its government offers reciprocal authorization to New York to operate across state lines, and both agree to oversight by regional and national SARA organizations. In the state of California, CIA is permitted to offer the online MPS program by the Board of Private Postsecondary Education’s acceptance of CIA’s Middle States accreditation. For more information on SARA, see . For more detailed information about accreditation and state oversight, see those sections of this Consumer Information website.
